In many cases smaller labs have to share a freezer which leaves the access to the samples open for more people. The small sized upright freezer can be a great and affortable alternative for applications where the labs want its private freezer for their use only.
The small upright freezers feature two independent storage compartments, each with its own cooling system, allowing both compartments to operate at different temperatures simultaneously.
Small upright freezers are also suitable in applications where it can be difficult to access the facility. The upright freezers are designed with external dimensions which fits through standard doorways, both with hight and width. This makes it possible to place them in basements, on the top floor, in a mobile lab, on a ship, etc. In many cases it would be less costly to install more smaller freezers compared to a freezer with a larger capacity.

The difference between the two models is the temperatue range. Ultra-low temperature (ULT) freezers are designed to maintain temperatures between −60 °C and −86 °C. By contrast, extra-low temperature (XLT) freezers operate at a slightly warmer range, from −25 °C to −65 °C.
Small Upright freezers comes in a many different shapes and sizes. Consider if the footprint, the height, the depth or width is the most important criteria.
Yes. Nordic lab offer different combinations of small upright freezers. The upright models combine two undercounter freezers, meaning that it is possible to have two XLTs, two ULTs or an XLT and ULT together. The ULT can either be placed on top of the XLT or beneath it depending on the needs of the laboratory.
