Nordic Lab specializes in manufacturing chest freezers for use in laboratories, hospitals or anywhere scientific research and cold storage of various ingredients are required. Supreme stability, reliability, user-friendliness and small dimensions make these freezers the perfect choice for use inside the lab.
Low power consumption, natural refrigerant, cyclopentane insulation combined with recyclable materials, makes the chest freezers environmentally friendly to an extent not seen elsewhere. All Nordic Lab freezers have a unique single stage compressor technology which has been proven for more than 20 years.
Advantages using chest lab freezers
Chest freezers are the best way to store samples if you need to frequently access your samples. The cold air does not escape when the lid is open and therefore the freezer does not have to use a lot of energy when reduced in temperature after opening.
The small sized freezers are often known as personal freezers. It is an ideal option in labs which needs the flexibility. Most models come with castors so it can easily be moved around the lab. Due to its small footprint, it does not take up a lot of space.
The large freezers are the perfect choice for long term storage and for applications where the samples do not have to be accessed all the time. It can be placed in a central storage facility where space is not as limited. Due to the physics, the chest freezer is the less expensive and the most environment friendly option.
Various scales of temperature in chest freezers
The temperature of chest freezers is ranging from -10°C to -86°C, which is distributed in 4 different chest freezer definitions: MLT, LT, XLT and ULT.
The MLT and LT freezers are designed for professional users who want a reliable freezer which will provide a safe storage for many years. Both MLT and LT freezers can be used for numerous different applications from short-term storage of samples which are used for daily and long-term storage in eg. the food industry. The MLT chest freezers (Medium Low Temperature) operates in a temperature range from -10°C to -25°C, and the LT freezers (Low Temperature) operates in a temperature range from -25°C to -45°C.
The XLT and ULT freezers are both meant for more demanding freezing applications. The XLT freezers (Extra Low Temperature) operates in a temperature range from -40°C to -60°C. And the ULT freezers (Ultra Low Temperature) operates in a temperature range from -60°C to -86°C.
